When we were there: End of January 2016

Where we anchored: Their are 2 anchorages, but we only used the one in the South Bay. This anchorage is all rock bottom with some sand patches. Most people use a stern anchor here to keep their bow into the swell, and because it is a small anchorage. We anchored in 17ft around 21 50’33″N 105 52’57″W. As soon as we felt like out hook set I was in the water checking to see where it landed. Jon and I were lucky to find sand not only with our main hook but we also set our stern hook in sand.P2180495-1

About: Get off the boat, get in the water or go hike around the island! The birds are everywhere, you can get up close and personal and get amazing photographs! The water was crystal clear the first day we got there. At times the anchorage can be rolly, but with 2 anchors it is better. The island  is worth the little amount of sleep you might get.

What was the water like: Clear the first day, murky the rest
