Mainland Mexico Anchorages

Caleta de Campos, Mexico

DJI_0007

When we were there:  April 2016

Where we anchored:  20-25 feet over sand around 18 04’20″N 102 44′ 59″W. We used a stern hook to keep our bow into the swell.

About: This anchorage is open to pretty much everything, but is a great stopping point while breaking up the sail between Las Hadas and  Z-town. While we were there the swell was up and we could not explore much. There apparently is a blow hole on the little island just outside of the cove, but it was to rough for Jon and I to make it out there in Falkor.

What was the water like: Beautiful, but murky.

Dinghy Landing: Could be done, you must time the swell. We watched the pongas wait for 10 minutes timing the swell to beach.

Would we come back: yes

Would we recommend people going: yes
